We are looking for a Short -Term Assignment Respiratory Therapist to provide professional respiratory therapy services to children and young adults. You will be an integral member of the multidisciplinary team working alongside a fantastic group of therapists, nurses and other professionals who have specialized training and knowledge to support children and young adults with complex medical needs. This will be a 4-month contract position, with the opportunity to move to permanent work once the contract has ended.
BenefitsFlat rate of $45/hr $300 per month for individuals located 60 or more miles away from ChildServeFlexible scheduling Schedule 1800-0600 (36 hours per week)Every 3rd weekendWhat You'll Do Within the respiratory therapy scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the child’s care plan, make decisions and deliver a full range of respiratory therapy care based on the fundamentals of respiratory therapy care.Maintain accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by respiratory therapy standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.Communicate effectively, respectfully, and professionally with children, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to ensure assigned child’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met.Stay current with all unit and ChildServe specific information.Provide respiratory and related training to children, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a child’s care delivery.Demonstrate good stewardship of ChildServe equipment, supplies, and environment.What You'll Need Certification from an accredited respiratory therapy program and current licensure to practice in the state of Iowa.Documentation of current CPR/BLS certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.Ventilator experience required.Experience with tracheostomy care and changes preferred.Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.Ability to understand and communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.This position requires a seasonal Covid-19 and flu vaccination or approved medical or religious exemption.Why ChildServe?
