This role is responsible for spraying concrete to support underground by the proper operation of shotcrete equipment and applying fibrecrete and shotcrete according to the required consistency and depth as determined by the applicable ground support regime or as directed by the geotechnical department. 


Key Tasks and Responsibilities  

Ensure that regular QAQC (cylinders and slump) testing is conducted according to site standards to achieve required concrete strength and integrity Batch fibrecrete and shotcrete to required site standards.Ensure depth testing is carried out during spraying operations  If, for any reason, spraying is not planned for any given shift, work as directed by the Shift Supervisor as required Inspect the work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects; reporting immediately to the Shift Supervisor Read and understand ground conditions and ground support designs.Conduct housekeeping activities including post shotcreting clean-up. Undertake daily pre-starts, routine greasing and minor maintenance of machinery and batch plant.Ensure all equipment associated with the application of shotcrete/fibrecrete is thoroughly cleaned between batches and upon completion of each shift. 

QualificationsCertified for Agitator Unit and Spraymec operation Passed out as competent Underground Service Crew Full and current drivers’ licence; and competent driving manual vehicles A minimum of 3 years underground mining experience and Competent as a concrete agitator operator in an underground mine Experience as a member of the underground service crew Must have a clear understanding of ground support management plans Accurate numeracy and literacy skills.
