We are looking for a skilled Should Cost Analyst with 3-5 years of experience in cost estimation and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in should costing methodologies, proficiency in aPriori, and a solid understanding of Investment Casting, Machining, MiM, Motor, Magnet and Coil costing. This role requires excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills and exposure to working with European stakeholders. The employee will be part of the RAC Engineering organization in Danfoss, and will report to the local Engineering Manager
• Perform should cost analysis for components and assemblies, ensuring cost transparency and optimization.
• Utilize aPriori to generate cost models, validate supplier quotations, and support cost negotiations.
• Develop cost estimates for Investment Casting, Machining, MiM, Motor, Magnet and Coil components based on manufacturing processes, location, material selection, and market trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and finance, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Engage with European stakeholders to align cost expectations and support strategic sourcing decisions.
• Present cost breakdowns and insights to internal teams and senior management.
• Continuously refine cost models and methodologies to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
• 3-5 years of experience in should costing and cost analysis.
• Strong proficiency in aPriori and other cost estimation tools.
• In-depth knowledge of Investment Casting, Machining, MiM, Motor, Magnet and Coil manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
• Proficiency in 3D modelling: Creo and Inventor preferable
• Experience in Supplier interaction and supplier negotiation
• Experience working with European stakeholders and understanding global cost structures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey cost insights.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in a cross-functional, global team environment.
