Job Description

In partnership with the executive team, the Fan Expo Show Manager, will be responsible for building and executing a collaborative vision for key Fan Expo HQ events as assigned.

Our Fan Expo Show Manager primary responsibilities include building a world class event program and product, driving and monitoring ticket sales, exhibitor sales and overall operational readiness. This position will be responsible for growing events in their assigned markets, ensuring the smooth flow of all marketing materials, programming, staffing, supplier contracts and other logistics related to the successful delivery and evolution of the event.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy

Work with executive team to conceptualize, create and deliver innovative and best in class onsite experiences for fans, sponsors and exhibitorsAttend event strategy meetings bringing to the table new ideas and suggestions for changes based on vision for the event. Pitch new show features and activationsCreate strategic plans to achieve revenue goals by generating new ideas to drive ticket sales and other growth areasGather information and analyze previous year activities and results. Develop post show proposals for improvements and enhancements for the following year

Management

Oversee the operational preparations of assigned events with a team of event professionals including an operations coordinator, marketing coordinator and content coordinatorParticipate in the overall strategic planning for the events and then break off to coordinate the executionThe Show Manager will own the work back for each event and engage shared services (marketing, sales, guest relations, customer service) accordingly to ensure all items are executed above expectation, on schedule and within budgetMaintain and facilitate existing relationships with venues and other key partners/suppliers.Develop strong relationships with local sponsoring associations, exhibitors, vendors and overall communication with clients. Ensure that all communication is clear, concise and consistent with show guidelinesResearch prospective show suppliers. Ensure lowest cost, while maintaining high quality service for show management and exhibitorsReview quotes/invoices and submit for approvalWork closely with other team members and departments to ensure open communication and the necessary focus is allocated to the events falling under their scopeOversee the management of show budget, floor plans, layout changes and related booth regulationsAnalyze processes and bring greater organization and cost savings to the eventMaintain database of event venue historiesTravel for onsite event management as needed

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

College or University degree in Event Management, Business Management or Project Management5+ years of operational and/ or event management experience. Consumer event management experience considered an assetHighly organized and detail-orientedStrong time management skills and adaptable to constantly changing prioritiesAbility to work under pressure, balance workload and meet tight deadlinesCritical thinker who can make suggestions for improving event and processStrong verbal and written communications skillsExperience delivering events within Unionized facilities and union labor management considered an assetStrong negotiation skills and tacticsPositive attitude, strong work ethic and team playerTravel 4-5 events per year within Canada and US. Valid passport is mandatoryExperience with Illustrator and floor planning considered an assetExperience with Salesforce and/or other CRM platforms considered an assetBase salary of $70K–$100KJob listing expires on February 19 2025.
