The Principal Show Manager leads the Show team, works with all Project team members and is responsible for the Show Design and Delivery strategy, schedule, and budget.

You will functionally report to the WDI Executive, Show Management and receive project direction from Executive Leadership for the project.

What You Will Do

Be accountable for scopes/ budgets/ schedules/ strategies related to design and delivery

Lead the development and evaluation of staffing plans/ labor estimates as well as hard cost estimates for project completion efforts

Be responsible Individual (RI) on all contracts for outside vendors for design services and product fabrication

Drive production and mitigate risks related to delivery of scopes of work.

Track issues, risks, change, resolution and status and effectively communicate the information to project leadership using visuals and reports.

Lead changes in scope and strategy and mitigating associated costs

Anticipate issues and present solutions to resolve problems, challenges and concerns

Lead scope integration and completion for large and highly complex projects with multiple attractions, shows and venues.

Develop plans and execute with minimal guidance and direction.

Provide leadership on cross-functional teams

Lead strategic planning of projects including scopes/budgets/schedules

Drive problem resolution, risk mitigation and recommendations that impact project objectives across project teams of diverse fields

Lead mitigation efforts related to project scopes of work and update project leadership on issues and actions taken to resolve

Responsible for change management through all phases of a project

Communicate project risks and mitigation plans to WDI Senior Leadership

Make decisions regarding products and delivery strategies

Be responsible for identifying new sources for potential vendors for bidding

Management of vendors and internal resources for delivery of Product(s)

Required Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 7 years Themed Entertainment related experience

The ability to lead and integrate large and highly complex projects with multiple attractions shows/venues including guest and crew spaces.

Self-motivated, perform in highly fluid environment.  

Willing and able to work third shift and long hours as needed

Leadership of multi-cultural teams from various skillsets and contractor backgrounds

Sound judgement within a large scale, complex environment

Ability to represent Disney business practices in vendor negotiations

Ability to connect with operating partners and establish key relationships to successfully navigate the restrictive environment of an operating ship.  

Anticipate long term risks and consequences and initiate plans for mitigation

Strategic planning and basic knowledge of production methods, materials, and ability to learn technical systems quickly

Basic knowledge of entertainment and ride systems are a plus, but not required.

Ability to grasp complex problems and drive solutions in a time restrictive environment is critical to success.  

Experience in Engineering, Control systems, theater technical systems, ride systems, themed environments, or operating cruise ships is beneficial

Detailed understanding of Disney business practices

Ability to travel and/or relocate

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, Theater, Engineering or Design preferred or equivalent experience
