MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment to destination in a safe and efficient manner.Must operate equipment safely, with a strong knowledge/understanding of all State and Federal driver regulations outlined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations book.Maintain required paperwork in accordance with State and Federal DOT Regulations (i.e.: Driver logs, pre/post trip inspections).Comply with health and safety regulations, trailer drive must monitor safety requirements, ensuring procedures are followed so as not to endanger themselves and other through careless driving.Must be able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and stay on schedule.Possess excellent attention to detail.Compliance with applicable Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.Other duties as assigned.Must comply with all customer’s inbound policies and procedures for safety and GMP.Must always act in a professional matter. EDUCATION: Required: High School DiplomaRequired: Valid CDL Licensing (Commercial Driver License)EXPERIENCE:Required: 1 Year Tractor Trailer DrivingPreferred: 3 to 5 years over the road Class A CDL DriverSKILLS: Required: Must be able to pass a physical road test prior to being granted driving privileges.Must be capable of safely operating a commercial truck in a forward and backward direction, to include backing a trailer into a loading dock.Must be willing to transport a range of materials, merchandise, or equipment using heavy duty vehicles.Must be willing perform task such as loading and unloading materials or merchandise.Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.Must be able to follow traffic and driving laws, staying aware at all times.Must be able to couple and uncouple tractor-trailer.Must be able to crank landing gear.Must be able to ensure the trailer is loaded and lock device(s) and/or straps of trailer. Must be able to inspect vehicle at the start and end of each shift, recording any mechanical failures and/or physical damages.Must be able to inspect the trailer after each use/trip and record defects.Must be able to operate commercial vehicle in all weather conditions.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (if applicable):Must have strong understanding of State and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.Must hold and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license; each driver is expected to keep their physical Driver’s License with them when operating any company equipment.Must be physically fit to hold and maintain a valid medical certification card; each driver is expected to keep their physical medical certification with them when operating any company equipment.Must participate in pre-employment, random and post-incident DOT drug screening program, when applicable.Must pass a 10-year motor vehicle record check and ongoing annual check.Must pass a pre-employment background reference check.Must have the ability to read and follow all traffic, driving and safety instruction, signage, and laws
