The Student Health and Wellness Center (SHW) seeks a psychiatrist who can provide culturally informed clinical services to OHSU students and postdoctoral fellows across the spectrum of developmental and mental health issues. Function/Duties of PositionThis position will serve as part of a unified mental health team consisting of mental health professionals (e.g. psychiatrist, psychologist, masters level clinicians) and primary care providers (e.g. physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners), working together in the Student Health & Wellness Center to meet the acute emotional needs of health science professionals-in-training.
Clinical responsibilities include: diagnostic evaluation with a high volume of ADHD assessments, liaison consultation, some psychotherapy, and medication management. The clinician will work with other members of the team to provide continuity of care as needed in coverage as well as sharing information through written and verbal communications during planned absences. In collaboration with the team, clinician will serve as liaison to external programs, including the OHSU Dept. of Psychiatry and the various schools and programs served by the Student Health & Wellness Center. Provider will also design and deliver outreach programming on topics of interest to students and in collaboration with our wellness program. The psychiatrist will work with others on the team to enhance access for patients, use clinic resources efficiently, provide appropriate and effective outside referrals, and to help ensure the accomplishment of the overall mission, goals and objectives of the Student Health & Wellness Center. This includes participating in behavioral health team meetings where we support one another, consult about challenging cases, strategize how to improve access while preventing provider burnout, determine criteria for appropriate referrals, and partner with our primary care team to provide continuity of care for shared clients.
Required Qualifications Board Certification in Psychiatry and Oregon LicensureExperience in working as part of a multidisciplinary team with other physicians, nurse practitioners, clinical psychologists, counselors, and nurses, and collaborating with primary care providers for medication management.1-5 years experience in managing a wide range of adult mental disorders, including ADHD and acute psychotic conditions. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electronic medical records, especially EPIC.Experience assessing and managing the treatment of ADHD.Experience with management of eating disorder.Willingness to design and deliver talks to an academic audience.
