Job Title: SIC Mechanic Shop Foreman (RAL ST)

Job Summary: Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. seeks Mechanic Shop Foreman to work out of our Raleigh, NC office. Candidate will be responsible for the servicing and repair of tools and equipment. Training employees, monitoring work activity, working with clients and customers, ordering supplies, fixing equipment, and enforcing rules and regulations associated with the job site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise the activities of service department shop workers. Instruct subordinates on service best practices. Maintain and distribute up-to-date service requirement information to subordinates. Ensure quality of workmanship through verification of services. Ensure completion of shop maintenance and repair work. Advise mechanics of work that must be completed. Provide coaching and mentoring to all subordinate staff. Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery. Identify, investigate, correct and document potential environmental and safety problems. Provide information for production plans to ensure that production objectives are met. Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policy. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of service technology and techniques. Act as a Service Technician as necessary. Other duties as assigne.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or GED. Post secondary diploma/degree or equivalent experience. Minimum 4 years of experience in a related field. Minimum of 4 years’ supervisory experience with demonstrated motivating, training, appraising and general supervisory skills. Completion of college/vocational or technical training. Red Seal Certification Preferred. Possess a valid driver’s license. Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel automotive repairs. Ability to work independently in a busy environment.

Physical Requirements/Job Site Requirements: 

Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment and lift up to fifty pounds. Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, warehouses, and undeveloped properties, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops and other elevated positions, as well as, confined spaces. Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position. Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools. Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders, in personnel lifts, in workboats, and working in awkward body positions.
