In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in Software Engineering and Development for safety-critical (vital) railway signaling and train control systems. Across three rotations, you will work with diverse teams to design, implement, and test complex software solutions.
The first rotation will be in Pittsburgh, PA where your duties and responsibilities will be to:
Spearhead the exploration and initiation of pioneering AI applications in software engineering.Conduct research to identify innovative AI technologies and methodologies that enable software porting and translation.Develop clear methodologies for porting software applications between programming languages, demonstrating AI to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and adaptability.Investigate powerful AI-driven software development to establish a foundation for advancements in design, coding, and verification & validation (V&V) processes.Analyze current trends and tools in intelligence-powered code translation, software design, and V&V to assess feasibility and applicability.Develop proof-of-concept models and frameworks to evaluate AI capabilities in automating software engineering tasks.Develop a roadmap for integrating AI technologies into the software development lifecycle.Work closely with partners, including software engineers and system architects, to align research efforts with organizational goals.Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define project goals, landmarks, and success criteria for AI-driven initiatives.Provide recommendations for tools, frameworks, and standard processes to establish a foundation for AI-enhanced software engineering.Present findings, insights, and recommendations to leadership and technical teams to drive decision-making and future investments.Stay informed about advancements in AI, machine learning, and software engineering to identify new opportunities for innovation.Contribute to the development of internal knowledge repositories and training materials to build organizational expertise in machine learning-based software engineering.What we offer you:Two years full of responsibilities, growing, learning, and development opportunities for both personal and professional growth.Three individually designed assignments at various Siemens locations, including one eight-month assignment abroad.Proficient mentoring during the program to support you personally and to develop your potential.A global and diverse community of current participants and program alums who are looking forward to meeting you.A comprehensive benefits package, including competitive compensation, health coverage, and opportunities for professional development.Find more about the Siemens Graduate Program at [www.siemens.com/sgp](https://www.siemens.com/sgp) / #SiemensGraduateProgram
You’ll win us over by:Master’s, Doctoral Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field combined with significant practical work experience and knowledge from internships, working student activities, etc.Minimum of 4 months of international experience gained through studying, working, etc.Flexibility and mobility within the program duration.Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably more, including C or C++ (knowledge of Ada is considered a plus).Possessing strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Experience in applying AI techniques and technologies to software engineering challenges is highly desirable.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to succeed in a multi-functional, global environment.Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without requiring current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
