Your Role
The Signage Manager position is best suited to a designer with project management experience who possesses good technical knowledge and skills in preparing final signage and wayfinding documentation and artwork for 3D or digital applications. We want to make sure you understand user journey mapping, sign location strategies and how hierarchy of information can impact the user journey and beyond. The ability to develop creative up-front design concepts is also an advantage.
What You Will Do
Work with a multi-disciplinary team of architects and designers to create a strategy, design signage and wayfinding solutions that connect people to place for diverse client projectsGenerate multiple initial concepts and develop viable, documented design solutions that help solve complex wayfinding conditionsIntegrate messaging, color, imagery, type and composition into three-dimensional built environmentsProduce final signage and wayfinding documentation and artwork for 3D or digital applications for bidding processReview and elevate quality of our design and documentation with design sensibility, code and technical knowledgeManage construction administration with fabricators, RFIs and installation quality.Collaborate with clients, design teams and other graphic designers across multiple industriesFacilitate great design results by cultivating and maintaining positive client and team relationshipsHelp to manage project financial performanceInteract with internal team members, project managers from other areas, representatives from accounting and external vendorsManage coordination between internal departments or studiosYour Qualifications
Bachelors or higher degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Visual Communication or similar5-15 years of post-graduate and directly relevant work experience requiredExperience with signage and wayfinding design and technical drawingsProficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Microsoft Word and ExcelExcellent analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to articulate design rationale to internal teams and clientsProficiency drawing in scale and familiarity with architectural construction documents, elevations, plans, and shop drawings preferredAbility to interpret and apply a client’s brand and design aesthetic across multiple mediumsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, well spoken, and the ability to work well with a wide range of internal clients in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentInterest in expanding skillset across design platforms such as the built environments, experiential design, and 3-dimensional mediaA personal portfolio that contains a strong and varied design approach, as well as specific examples of fully realized and produced signage and wayfinding projectsPlugged into emerging technologies/industry/design trends and share internallyUnderstanding of budgets, schedules, timelines and how to build them for client and team to align on goals and outcomesOwnership of weekly internal check ins and meetings to help design team align on goals and requirements for the projectAdditional Skills
Wayfinding planning experience including conducting research, building user-profiles, developing wayfinding strategies, and documenting wayfinding design solutionsRevit, Sketch Up, Grasshopper, Rhino, After Effects skills are a huge advantageWorking knowledge of print and production and vendor managementStrong sense of materials and fabrication/construction within a built environmentTypography skills a huge plus**The base salary range will be estimated between $105,000 - $120,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.
