Signal Designer/Engineer (Transit & Rail) for Gannett Fleming, Inc. May telecommute but reports to our St. Louis, MO loc.
Develop transit and rail drawings and plans, technical specs and reports, cost estimates, and project schedules. Work may also entail oversight of commissioning and testing during implementation phase of project. Generate preliminary or final design signal drawings, signal circuit designs, technical specs and reports, construction cost estimates, project schedules and cutover plans. Assist w/ coordination of design w/ other disciplines, attend design coord meetings w/ team members and client reps. Manage project work including scope, sched, & budget and provide timely, quality milestone reporting. Ensure designs adhere to necessary federal, state, and local standards & laws. Coord and guide CADD techs to produce CADD drawings. Follow QA/QC policies and practices and ID quality and safety issues w/in scope of project. Check designs as part of QA process. Assist in field data collection and/or field systems verifications. Assist in studies and selection of equipment to fit and project design. Develop signal circuit designs. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. May require working outside standard M-F, 8am–5pm and in unique environmental conds (subway tunnels, hi-voltage areas, etc.).
May undergo background checks incl drug screen and MV check.
Little national travel (up to 60 days/yr) required to U.S. project sites and meetings at St. Louis, MO office.
Must have Bach in Engineering field and 5 yrs rel exp in multi-disciplinary programs exp.
Also reqs the following skills (5 yrs exp) in: various aspects of signal systems (fixed block, micro-processor-based systems, vital and non-vital circuit design, CBTC, Centralized traffic control); (1 yr exp) in: hi-way crossing design.
