Job Responsibilities:
Position Summary
The Park Attendant at Simeon Park is responsible for maintaining park grounds, running recreational programs and activities, and providing guest services. This position reports to the Operations and Maintenance Specialist.
Major Responsibilities
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the park by performing tasks such as painting, lawn mowing and trimming, garbage collection, cleaning and maintaining indoor facilities, operating machinery, performing additional general labor as required, and daily housekeeping of the pool office and pavilion.
Conduct routine inspections of park facilities, including playgrounds, picnic areas, and restrooms, to ensure they are safe and in good condition.
Provide information and assistance to park visitors, ensuring a positive and enjoyable experience for all guests.
Support the organization and execution of park events and activities, including setting up equipment and providing logistical support.
Assist with pool maintenance tasks and administrative duties as needed.
Recreation Programs/Activities
Organize weekend activities for guests (e.g., lawn games, bingo, trivia).
Officiate soccer and slo-pitch games.
Guest Services
Assist with gatehouse operations, including processing payments, admitting guests, and directing them to booking locations.
Manage party bookings and reservations.
Handle rentals and purchases.
Process guest memberships.
Assist guests with their belongings and accommodate guests with disabilities.
Answer telephone and email inquiries, providing information about the park, including rules, programs, amenities, services, and events.
Skills and Competencies Required
Ability to operate maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers.
Soccer referee certification.
First Aid & CPR-C Certification.
Knowledge and Education
Must be enrolled in a university or college program.
Work Environment
Park hours are Tuesday to Friday, 12 PM to 9 PM, and weekends, 9 AM to 9 PM.
Outdoor work environment, requiring the ability to work in various weather conditions.
Must be available to work weekends and all holidays of the summer season.
40 hours per week with rotating shifts (9 AM – 6 PM or 12 PM – 9 PM), with availability to work overtime if required.
Time off requests must be submitted 2 weeks in advance for scheduling purposes.
Note: Time off requests on weekends may be limited to one weekend for the entire summer; it is preferable to book your eligible time off during weekdays.
