3D Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer
Position Description
Join our team and help us build a high-fidelity simulated environment for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Traffic Management (UTM) research. The Real-Time UTM Simulation Environment (RUSE) will allow researchers to test new UTM concepts in a high-fidelity simulation environment with photorealistic visualizations. RUSE will also be integrated with other existing simulation and services environments across multiple NASA Centers. The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing interactive 3D environments using tools like Unity or Unreal Engine, preferably for aircraft or other aerospace applications.
Required Skills:
B.S., M.S., or PhD degree in computer science or related field with post-graduate experience (3-5 years for B.S., 1-3 years for M.S., 0-1 year for PhD)Hands-on experience developing applications using game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine (aerospace domain experience preferred)Backend functionality development in C#, C++, or PythonKnowledge of application-level connectivity, cloud/on-prem deployment, and on-demand scaling to maintain application fidelityExcellent technical communication skillsOther desired skills:
