About This Role
The Simulator Technician I will be responsible for maintaining and preparing flight training simulators to meet FAA/EASA/CAAC regulations and CAI’s Excellence standards. This position will also ensure that the simulation environment closely replicates aircraft operations and supports instructors in conducting effective training.
This role requires someone available to work nights and weekends Qualifications:
+ 2-year technical degree or 4 years in electronic troubleshooting knowledge preferred.
+ Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
+ Must be Computer literate.
+ Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs is preferred but not required.
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite required.
+ Fluency in English
Responsibilities:
+ Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
+ Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
+ Utilize a maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
+ Complete all designated training activities.
+ Perform pre-flight and post-flight on designated simulators.
+ Perform basic visual alignments.
+ Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
+ Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications.
+ Learn and comply with CAE quality management system.
+ Provide customer service support and address customer needs promptly.
+ Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required.
+ Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
+ Perform administrative tasks as required.
+ Perform tasks to support the technical services group as required.
Physical Effort:
+ The physical or muscular exertion required for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting or moving objects (weighing as much as 50lbs) and the resulting fatigue brought about by these activities.
+ Work in sustained sitting, standing, stooping, and squatting positions. Also climbing on ladders and equipment to heights 25 to 30 feet above the floor. Ability to safely move and work on equipment in confined spaces for reasonable periods.
+ The physical dexterity required to perform tasks requiring hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.
+ Have the manual dexterity, knowledge, and experience required to work safely and effectively with various hand tools.
+ The ability to maintain situational awareness and operate safely near complex machinery with sudden and forceful movement.
+ Ability to work in cool temperatures between 55- and 65 degrees.
