About This Role
CAE, one of the largest business aviation training facilities, is looking for a Simulator Technician in our newest training center in Las Vegas, Nevada. In this role you will perform preventative maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
Essential Job Functions
Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems. Assist in diagnosing and correcting routine problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems. Perform pre-flight and post flight tasks on designated simulators. Perform basic visual alignments. Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG). Utilize maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities. Complete all designated training activities. Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications. Learn and comply with CAE quality management system. Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner. Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation. Perform housekeeping functions to maintain the simulators as required. Perform all administrative tasks as required.Education & Experience Requirements
2-year technical degree or equivalent related training1 year of simulator related experience in (electronics/avionics, automated systems, or computer networking repair and troubleshooting)Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficiency in reading and interpreting prints and schematics Knowledge of analog and digital theory Basic skills in the operation of test equipment Basic skills in soldering and circuit board repair Some knowledge of PCs and MS-Office tools and suite Motivated in customer support and attention to detailLocation
The primary work location for this position is at the Las Vegas Training Facility in NevadaMinimal travel may be required (less than 10%).Physical Effort:
The physical or muscular exertion required for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting or moving objects (weighing as much as 50lbs) and the resulting fatigue brought about by these activitiesWork in sustained sitting, standing, stooping, and squatting positions. Also climbing on ladders and equipment to heights 25 to 30 feet above the floor. Ability to safely move and work on equipment in confined spaces for reasonable periods of time.The physical dexterity required in performing tasks that require hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.Have the manual dexterity, knowledge, and experience necessary to work safely and effectively with various hand tools.
