Single Family Affordable Lending Manager

At Freddie Mac, you will do important work to build a better housing finance system and you’ll be part of a team helping to make homeownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable across the nation.

Position Overview:

The Single Family Client and Community Engagement Division is seeking an Affordable Lending Manager. The team is responsible for establishing relationships with Lenders, Housing Finance Agencies, Housing Intermediaries and other Stakeholders to provide responsible lending opportunities to first time homebuyers, low-to-moderate income borrowers, and families in underserved markets. The Affordable Lending team is committed to ensuring Freddie Mac has the offerings to support responsible lending and provide sustainable homeownership, and to improve access to credit for all Borrowers – providing liquidity to the affordable market; educating new borrowers for homeownership; creating new business opportunities; and preserving homeownership. This position will directly support the goals and objectives of the division.

Your Work Falls into Three Primary Categories:

Relationship Management

Use expertise in public/private partnerships to develop and implement initiatives among and between internal and external stakeholders including Seller/Servicers.Assist in the management of the company’s relationships with national, regional, and community lenders so that the company can be seen as part of and vital to its customers and their constituents’ success in housing, thus improving the corporate brand and its reputation.Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in critical situations, without damage to relationship.

Analysis

Analyze market data to identify trends/opportunities and develops strategic direction from market information.Work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

Management

Support the Sales/Sourcing organization to build and execute Seller plans for meeting affordable lending, community outreach and CRA goals.Supervise progress against plans, and provide corrective action where needed.Participate in roll-out and integration of new or revised Affordable Lending and/or Access to Credit products, offerings and initiatives with Sellers, including Duty to Serve initiatives and offerings.Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.

Qualifications:College Degree or equivalent professional experience, advanced studies and/or degree is preferred.Typically has 8-10 years related experience and 2+ years of management experience. Experience in the mortgage industry, particularly in loan origination, is preferred.Proven experience in relationship management and problem solving. Public/private partnership experience and/or state and federal housing community development programs experience is a plus.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Excellent public speaking skill, ability to deliver consistent messages to multiple partners.Knowledge of the Making Homes Affordable Act and government initiatives.Candidates in any location nationwide are encouraged to apply. The hire will have the option to work remote or from a Freddie Mac office. However the position will be aligned to a geographical U.S. region.Position requires 40% travel – (currently works remote and makes virtual presentations)

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $136,000 - $204,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
