Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil Engineer for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Denver, CO. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. This person will be responsible for the design of facility-related sites in support of a variety of marketsincluding Corporate/Commercial, Healthcare, Education, Municipal, Civic, Industrial, Sports Recreation, and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. Experience in land development and the design of building related site civil (grading, utilities, storm drainage, stormwater management, and erosion control) is required. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative, and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound designs.


In the role of Site Civil Engineer we'll count on you to:

Contribute to the development of civil engineering scope of work and budgets for proposalsServe as the Engineer of Record on non-complex projectsCoordinate with internal and external resources to complete all due diligence research and documentationDevelop concept site layouts that are compliant with all Jurisdictional requirements and support the Pre-Application process Coordinate with the Authority Having Jurisdiction to determine design and submittal requirements and coordinate design solutionsAssist with community outreach as defined within the scope of a projectAttend and contribute to client meetingsTransition the concept plans through the schematic and construction design processesCoordinate with subconsultants for support and design servicesDesign and produce plan sets, details, specifications, and cost estimatesPerform calculations in support of the site development (stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, hydrology calcs, etc.)Author reports that are technically sound, grammatically correct, and well organizedUse engineering judgement to determine the best course of actionBe independent in your pursuit for information and solutionsManage your time and organization of multiple tasks/projectsCommunicate effectively with managers and team membersPursue efficiencies within your work and operationsMentor junior staff and delegate appropriate tasksBe an advocate for HDR, the BES Business Group, and the Site Civil team Perform other tasks that support the mission and vision of HDR and the BES Business Group

Preferred Qualifications

BS degree in Civil Engineering, or similar fieldMinimum of 6 years civil engineering experience across the full spectrum of site civil designStrong operating knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3DStrong operating knowledge in modeling software such as Hydraflow Storm Sewers, Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD, Bentley StormCAD or similar softwarePrevious experience with an architectural/engineering firmPreference given to local candidates

Bachelor's degree Previous experience in general civil engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) Colorado: $82,390.00 - $117,700.00
