HDR is currently seeking a Site Civil Business Class Lead for our Building Engineering Services Business Group located in Houston, TX. Our team is an integrated facility and infrastructure design team consisting of core services of Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Site Civil Engineering. In addition, we offer specialty services consisting of Fire Life Safety, Building Commissioning, Specialty Lighting, Controls Systems, OT Cybersecurity, Low Voltage/Security/Telecom and Construction Services. Our team works in a wide variety of markets including Tech/Media/Telecom, Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Industrial, Water/Wastewater, Federal and Mission Critical buildings and infrastructure.

The Site Civil Business Class Lead is responsible for the growth, operations and technical leadership of the Site Civil Section which encompasses design, staff development and mentoring, workload management, profitability, morale, and quality control. In addition, the Business Class Lead will be responsible for building strong external and internal client relationships with other business group leadership as well as participation in marketing and project planning and serving as a representative of HDR in the local industry.

In the role of Site Civil Business Class Lead, we’ll count on you to:

Take responsibility for operations of the Site Civil Business Class in the regional area, including managing workload and utilization, staff development, project delivery, quality control, and proposal supportBuild team technical expertise and design production capacity through recruitment, staff development, and trainingEngagewith external clients, as well as internal project managers, market sector leads, business group managers, and other leaders throughout HDRPrepare site civil proposals, including scope development and estimating hours and feesSupport strategic planning, marketing, and interviews for site civil planning and designParticipate in leadership functions and support the development of HDR services in site civil planning and designCollaborate with National Business Class Directors and Market Sector staff to drive the growth and advancement of our Site Civil Business Class in the industryServe as a thought leader within our organization and the land development industry, participating in industry conferences and authoring articles or technical publicationsHelp implement, monitor, and support company policiesTravel intermittently regionally and nationally as necessaryPerform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in civil engineeringBachelor’s degree in civil engineeringProject experience with land entitlement and development processes in multiple jurisdictionsExperience with land development design and construction plan developmentActively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR valuesMaintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience 
Experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
