The contract with New Zealand Steel is of significant importance to Spotless.  New Zealand Steel is the country’s sole producer of flat rolled steel products for the building, construction, manufacturing and agricultural industries. They operate a fully integrated steel mill at Glenbrook, about 60 kilometres south of Auckland. The contract covers the facilities management of all buildings within this site.

Spotless Services has been partnered with New Zealand Steel since 1977, initially providing cleaning services and later securing the Facilities Maintenance Management Services contract in 2006. New Zealand Steel, part of BlueScope Steel, focuses on strengthening its domestic market, reducing reliance on deep-sea exports, and driving manufacturing excellence. 

To achieve these goals, NZS aims to be recognized as a world-class manufacturer, with a focus on performance, productivity, and increased margins. Spotless, through its Emergency Services and Road Safety Team, supports NZS by managing traffic, emergency preparedness, response, and access control systems and procedures.

A bit about the role: 

We are seeking a Site Emergency Services Shift Support Specialist to provide leave cover for the Site Emergency Services Team and ensure compliance with hazardous substances legislation at New Zealand Steel. This role also involves supporting Emergency Response Team training and assisting with monthly site checks for Building Warrant of Fitness.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leave cover for the Site Emergency Services and Road Safety Officer. Support, audit, and review Emergency Response Team Training on the Glenbrook site. Assist the Spotless Compliance Manager with monthly Building Warrant of Fitness site checks.

Experience in Emergency Preparedness and Response (Fire Service Senior Leadership experience preferred) First Aid certification Mature attitude with a strong sense of responsibility Valid Driver's License Computer literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Clear criminal background check Willingness and ability to develop and maintain skills
