Job description:

Purpose of the role

To plan, coordinate, and provide support to engineering projects on-site, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, effective design implementation, and overall project efficiency. The position will play a key role in providing site & local input to the Perth based project engineering team and ensuring site projects and permitting submissions are aligned to the engineering concepts provided. The role includes integrating sustainable practices, managing project timelines, budgets, and resources while adhering to safety and business standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Management:

Develop and execute detailed site-specific project plans including scope, schedule, and budget.

Coordinate with on-site teams and departments to ensure project alignment with company goals.

Monitor and report on project progress, making on-site adjustments as necessary.

 Design and Engineering:

Provide input and feedback to the Perth based project engineering team

Oversee the on-site implementation of engineering designs, ensuring practicality and regulatory compliance.

Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and plans on-site.

Implement innovative design solutions to optimize on-site project outcomes.

Environmental and Permitting Compliance:

Ensure all on-site activities comply with local, regional, and national environmental regulations and codes.

Develop terms of reference, scope of work, and review technical documents required for permitting applications.

Implement and maintain tracking tools for environmental and permitting compliance on-site

Resource Management:

Allocate and manage on-site project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.

Liaise with suppliers and contractors on-site to ensure timely delivery and quality of services and materials.

Safety and Risk Management:

Promote a safety-first culture by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations on-site.

Identify and mitigate on-site project risks, including environmental and safety risks.

Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions on-site.

Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain effective communication with all on-site project stakeholders, including clients, communities, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.

Prepare and present site-specific project reports and updates to senior management and stakeholders.

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, or related field).

Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering and project management, preferably in the mining sector.

Proven track record of managing engineering projects from inception to completion.

Strong knowledge of engineering design, construction, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements in the mining industry.

Proficiency in project management software, scheduling, and engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in English, written and spoken.
