Job summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Site HR Manager to join our team in Angola. The Site Human Resource Manager is responsible for the smooth and efficient handling of all HR related processes related to recruitment and retention, compliance, compensation, benefits, training and development; as well as oversee administrative functions. One key focus is to secure and onboard the required staff and labour for the installation of electrical and mechanical scope (Turbines, Generators, Hydraulic Steel Structures, BoPe and BoPm) of the Caculo Cabaça project.
As a looking ahead person, the Site HR Manager ensures that bottlenecks are discovered proactively and develops mitigation measures to ensure timely availability of human resources as per the needs of the contract schedule and within budget, aligned with the site management team of a mega construction project.

Your Skills

Safety First: Assure everyone within area of responsibility commits to our HSE culture and follows the respective rules Overall management of the HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding and retention, compliance, compensation & benefits, training and development, performance management; HR administration and payroll  Manage the recruitment and selection process to ensure a high level of excellence Prepare staff mobilization including site access, accommodation and travel reservation Implement and ensure process for engagement of non-residents is followed, such as job advertisement in Angola, visa application process and provide advice on local personal tax duties; collaborate with the international Voith Hydro HR department Ensure payroll process for the site staff; validate timesheets and prepare payroll files and expenses for staff employees Provide HR relevant reporting, participate in audits Escalate critical issues to the Site Manager, Project Director and HR

 

Your Profile

Bachelor or master's degree in human resource, Business Administration or related field Previous demonstrated experience in a similar position and minimum of 5 years of experience in site resources management in Hydro Power projects or in similar large construction projects Excellent knowledge in HR processes, labor and union laws for both, local and non-resident employees Knowledge of HR Systems and databases and demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics. Pragmatic look-ahead planning mentality, focused on construction site needs Open to gain a principle understanding on technical installation sequence Being customer and people oriented, accountable and solution driven Strong focus on customer satisfaction, accountability, and problem-solving skills. Awareness of HSE and Construction Mindset. Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards in construction projects. Team player with strong leadership skills to execute disciplinary measures if needed Highly developed written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English; due to the international team set-up additional languages are beneficial (e.g. international communication with teams, reporting to international managers). Familiarity with the cultural, social and legal context of Angola Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills Preference will be given to Angolan nationals or residence card holders in accordance with local employment regulations.
