Position Title: Site Manager

Location: BAE Systems, Samlesbury & Warton

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Senior CDM Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Manager to join our team at Mitie. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing external contractors working on various projects at BAE Systems' sites in Samlesbury and Warton, ensuring smooth operation and supporting the embedded Mitie Project Management team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Site Manager, you will play a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the activities of external contractors, ensuring projects are completed on time and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Duties:

1. Project Supervision:

o Oversee the daily activities of external contractors on site, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.

o Coordinate with the Mitie Project Management team to review and implement project plans.

o Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing any potential issues or delays.

2. Health and Safety Compliance:

o Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and legal requirements.

o Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.

o Promote a culture of safety and lead by example in enforcing site safety protocols and procedures.

3. Contractor Management:

o Maintain effective communication with external contractors, providing guidance and support as needed.

o Evaluate contractor performance, address any issues, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.

o Authorise work permits and monitor high-risk tasks through to completion and sign off

4. Quality Assurance:

o Inspect completed work to ensure it meets the required specifications and quality standards.

o Work closely with contractors to address and resolve any defects or deficiencies in workmanship.

o Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement measures to enhance project quality.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project activities, including daily progress reports, site logs, and contractor performance evaluations.

o Submit safety tours, site inspections, hazard and quality observations on projects meeting the required monthly KPI.

o Ensure all project documentation is stored and managed in accordance with company policies.

Objectives:

· Timeliness: Ensure all projects are completed within the scheduled time frames, avoiding delays and disruptions.

· Quality: Uphold high standards of quality across all contractor work, ensuring customer satisfaction.

· Safety: Foster a safe working environment and minimize the risk of accidents and injuries.

· Communication: Maintain clear and open lines of communication with contractors, the Mitie Project Management team, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Site Manager or in a similar role within the construction or project management industry.

· Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and health and safety regulations.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and contractors simultaneously.

· Proficient in using project management software and tools.

Working Conditions:

· Willingness to travel between Samlesbury and Warton sites as required.

· Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

· Flexibility to work outside of standard working hours if needed.
