Job Description:
Summary:
Shall have knowledge of: principles of engineering, planning, project programming, and ability to interpret plans and drawings. SM shall have experience in management and supervision of an engineering staff. It is preferred that the SM shall be a registered professional engineer. It is required that SM be a USN. The SM serves as the administrative supervisor of the Contractor’s employees, be the liaison with the Contractor’s staff, and work with the COR and Program’s Flight Commander for work requirements and priorities. The SM shall work closely with the COR and 380 ECES Engineering Flight Commander to make sure the right priorities are being worked on, work assigned due dates are established and adhered to, and any issues or concerns are brought up and dealt with in a timely manner.
The SM shall coordinate with the Government COR to determine and agree to reasonable completion dates for all assigned work. If a completion date cannot be met, the SM shall notify the COR at the earliest opportunity and shall provide the COR with the rationale for delay and propose a revised completion date with justification.
The SM shall ensure that Contractor personnel are effectively working on the Government’s priorities and shall communicate any delays or unexpected situations to the COR in a timely manner.
Job Duties:
Manages site operations, departments, services and activities within assigned AOR. Manages site operations in a manner that ensures ongoing compliance with applicable contractual, statutory and procedural requirements. Coordinates and schedules activities of departments to ensure that support services are provided on a timely basis. Evaluates and assesses the operational requirements of the company as well as develops and provides the types and levels of expertise and services required to support project operations. Reports the status of the assigned organization to management. Investigates technical and operational issues to determine their cause and recommends resolution. Provides technical and operational guidance. Directs the effective operation of site functions and services; develops and implements improvement initiatives as needed. Responsible for the financial performance of all site operations; consistently monitors project financials, reports key metrics and takes prompt, effective corrective action to ensure the achievement of site financial objectives. Coordinates site operations and activities with other locations, military contacts and regional management. Directs planning and scheduling activities for site operations. Establishes site practices and procedures as appropriate.
