Site Materials Manager - Silliguri

Role Summary / Purpose

The Site Materials Leader will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, & processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials to support Locomotive maintenance operations, solve problems & have the ability to affect short-term & some long-term business goals in setting up inventory, warehousing, parts warranty & repair process.

Essential Responsibilities

In addition, you will:

Develop and maintain Inventory management proceduresStocking levels (Min-Max)Transactional process supportParts Receiving, Storage & ShippingInventory accuracy (Cycle count)Coordinate with Maintenance operations & Quality team on warranty claim settlementEnsuring timely parts availability and issuance to service shop for Locomotive maintenanceEnsure to meet ship to request OTD for payable sparesFunctionally own the relevant IT systems to be implemented to support the Planning / Ordering, inventory & warehousing processesEnsure processes contribute to a safe work environment.Managing & disposition of non-confirming materials and scrapsManaging parts repair with supplier under warranty or on paid basis (onsite and offsite)Coordinating logistics movement for partsManaging Feeder Warehouse operationsLean manufacturing / materials initiatives and supportProcess adherence and maintain Quality management systemPositive relationships with supplier and customerAppropriate resource allocationDrive materials matrices with Safety & Compliance Culture

Qualifications / Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Production/Operations EngineeringMinimum 4-6 years in Railway or Heavy Fabrication industry. Total 12+ Years experience.Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications & manufacturing processes.Knowledge on inventory planning & warehouse management processesExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with diverse team members.Having working experience of ERPs
