For our Manufacturing Site in Bensheim we are looking for a Production Controller (m/f/d) who will take responsibility over several accounting and FP&A activities reporting into the Supply Chain Finance Director for Connected Technology Solutions. The candidate must have strong knowledge of SAP ERP, product costing and industrial controlling.
Site Production Controller (f/m/d)
Your role and responsibilities:
Act as business partner for Operation Leaders in support of the manufacturing activities including reporting, analysis and decision-making. Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reporting. Oversee month-end close activities including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations related to product cost and inventory. Oversee the ERP production data, ensuring that the operations team is properly recording and reporting inventory and COGS related transactions. Oversee in the review of the manufacturing variances and the understanding of the detail transactions Oversee the preparation of various analysis including manufacturing costs and absorption, variances and productivity. Oversee site level decisions concerning ERP data and system requirements for inventory related modules, along with the item master designee. Oversee analysis and reporting of local E&O while providing guidance and support in the reduction of E&O in coordination with operations. Responsible for the accurate costing of product and services thru standardized methodology of BOM’s and routes, including all new product costing and the annual costing updates and reviews plus required financial and ERP system modeling. Oversee the annual physical inventories count procedures as required. Responsible for analysis and approval of inventory account discrepancies with local operations team to document and implement correction actions as necessary. Oversee the proper maintenance, safeguarding, and accounting of the company’s assets including PP&E and the inventory in the plant. Remain current on policies and procedures including Corporate Finance Accounting Manual (CFAM), Sarbanes and Oxley (SOX), US GAAP and DS best practices, ensuring site compliance Responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the site’s internal control system in accordance with all corporate policies and Sarbanes and Oxley. Active participant for any ERP and BI implementations and upgrades. Assist in ad-hoc projects as necessary. Partner with business partners concerning adhoc analysis, budgeting, forecasting and execution of strategic initiatives and other reporting. Act as a liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Distribution and Marketing to ensure effective and efficient processes involving BOM-type inventory logistics to ensure accuracy in product costing, expense recognition, balance sheet and efficient processing of inventory related transactions.
Your Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines Some years of experience in cost accounting and / or related experience in a manufacturing environment Prior management experience preferred. Production and Processing – Operational knowledge of inputs, outputs, raw material, labor, waste, quality control and techniques for maximizing the manufacture and distribution of good with accurate costs Strong technical knowledge specific to standard product costing, and manufacturing variances within SAP ERP system. Firm knowledge of policies and practices involved in financial management, accounting principles/procedures, and capital project evaluation. Knowledge of principles and practices involved in the implementation of audit standards with heavy emphasis on SOX and internal controls. Must have strong skills in SAP, Microsoft Office and Hyperion suites. Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English language
