Site Reliability Engineer

Onsite- Austin, TX ( 3 days a week)

Thales is seeking an experience Site Reliability Engineer with strong experience in developing, maintaining CTE product line and solutions for deployment wherever it resides, on-premises, across multiple clouds and within big data, and container environments.

 

The Site Reliability Engineer will assess the requirements of customers and businesses, designs documents, and comes up with architectural approaches. Architects provide technical advice for software development. An architect will also assume the role of a technology expert in addressing issues related to systems, compatibility, and software integration. They will collaborate with team members and product managers to strategize, develop, trial, and document features.

Key Areas of Responsibilty

Collaborate with Project Manager and Service Delivery Managers on traffic trends, analyze the impact of mid-term business changes on capacity requirements

Responsible to Integrate, Operate and Support 24 x 7 mission critical services

Continuously improve service reliability, performance, and security of the services

Responsible to review technical products and understand customer requirements

Participate in capacity management processes and security audits

Responsible for defining business continuity strategy for Operated services over public cloud

Ability to work SRE engineers during integration and operation project phases

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or a related field ; or equivalent work experience

+5 years of experience in design, development and implementation of applications

+5 years of proven experience in Public Cloud (GCP or AWS)

​Strong working experience on one of the scripting languages – SHELL/Python is required.

Experience on Datadog Monitoring tool implementation and monitoring

Experience on GCP Terraform

Other technology: SOAP, Rest API, No-SQL, SQL query constructions, operate secrets on Vault, ITIL/Agile and Kubernettes
