Job Description About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Site Reliability Engineer - Release Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. In this role, you will be a key player in ensuring the smooth, reliable, and efficient delivery of our software, directly impacting millions of customers across the Philippines. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, focusing on automation, observability, and continuous improvement of the release process. What You'll Need:

Strong Foundation: Deep understanding of software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, DevOps principles, Design Thinking, and Software Development Practices and ITIL processes, with at least 4 years of relevant experience.Automation Expertise: Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go, and experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, ArgoCD, and other tools like Prisma, DAST, and SAST tools. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, with at least 4 years of hands-on experience.Configuration Management: Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, with at least 2 years of practical experience.Cloud and Containerization: Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Openshift Container Platform, Oracle OCI) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, with at least 2 years of experience in managing and deploying applications in cloud environments.Troubleshooting Prowess: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues, demonstrated through at least 3 years of experience in a technical support or operations role.Effective Communication: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, proven by at least 4 years of experience in a collaborative work environment.Application Development Experience: Experience in developing applications, either frontend or backend, to better understand the software development lifecycle and collaborate effectively with development teams. As a huge plus, experience with specific technologies and frameworks relevant to Globe Telecom's stack would be highly valued. Ideally, with at least 2 years of experience in application development.SRE Experience: A solid understanding of SRE principles and practices, including monitoring, incident management, and performance optimization, with at least 3 years of experience in an SRE-related role. This includes experience with implementing and managing SLOs, error budgets, and other SRE tools and techniques. Well versed in understanding Key Metrics like DORA Metrics, Golden Signals and RED metrics, with demonstrable experience using these metrics to drive improvements in software delivery and system reliability.

Bonus Points:

Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir stack.Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.Understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), and big data technologies is a huge plus.IT Industry Certification is a plus but not required

Well versed in understanding Key Metrics like DORA Metrics, Golden Signals and RED metrics, with demonstrable experience using these metrics to drive improvements in software delivery and system reliability

At least 4 years of professional experience in Site Reliability Enginering/ Platform Engineering/software engineering/ practiceAt least 3 years of experience platform development and software via Python, BASH or any languageAt least 4 years of experience delivering cloud native software.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experienceExperience delivering cloud native solutions.Observability best practicesApplication Performance MonitoringMicroservice ArchitecturesProficient in Release Engineering Concepts and Release Management StrategBasic Understanding of SRE concepts, such as Service Level Indicators and Service Level ObjectivesNice to have experience in: Application Testing, DevOps, SecOps, Cloud Development Kit (CDK), Cloud Management, Security, Scalability, Reliability, Cost Optimization
