**Your role and responsibilities**
We are looking for an Oracle Database Administrator to join our IBM Cloud Fabric Development
Team in India. Our passion for innovation and winning in the cloud marketplace is infectious, and
we hope you will feel it with us. The IBM Cloud Fabric Development team is running IBM’s current
generation cloud platform to deliver performance and predictability for our customers’ most
demanding workloads, at global scale and with leadership efficiency, resiliency and security. It is an
exciting time, and as a team we are driven by this opportunity to delight our clients.
The Fabric Development Team sits at the center of our larger IaaS development effort. Oracle DBAs
will ensure the stability and accuracy of our Oracle platform and are required to work with
developers and stakeholders on these other teams to help solve problems that may arise.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Work with other Oracle DBA team members to maintain 100% uptime of an extremely large
and performant enterprise Oracle RAC installation
• Work with other Cloud team members to tune the performance of queries before they are
run, and monitor them for improvements as they are run
• Install new servers as necessary and update, patch, and monitor existing servers
• Ensure database backups are architected and executed well, ensuring and testing recovery
procedures.
• Monitor and maintain a complex Golden Gate replication across multiple clusters
• Ensure the security and compliance of the Oracle database architecture and associated
services
• Coordinate activities with a diverse set of development and infrastructure teams
• Troubleshoot any identified issue to resolution and root cause
• Maintain and create excellent documentation on the database and associated systems
**Required technical and professional expertise**
• 5+ years experience with Oracle 19c (or higher) RDBMS in a RAC environment
• Solid experience architecting, troubleshooting, and maintaining GoldenGate replication
• Solid experience supporting OLTP RAC database environments
• Experience supporting Business Intelligence OLAP database systems
• Experience ensuring database backups through RMAN
• Familiarity with monitoring and troubheshooting using OEM
• Familiarity with ASM
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
• Developing Shell scripts in an RHEL environment
• Administration of Delphix systems
• Knowledge of SAN
