Job Title: Site Safety Manager
Job Description
The Site Safety Manager is a field-based position responsible for overseeing safety and health-related construction activities across multiple projects. This role requires representing the company professionally and embodying core values. The ideal candidate will ensure contractor compliance with safety programs, regulatory, and legal requirements while fostering a culture of commitment and accountability to achieve health and safety excellence.
Responsibilities
Oversee and conduct safety observations and inspections of construction management and contractor activities to ensure compliance with safety programs and standards.Conduct safety audits of construction projects and report compliance issues for corrective action.Review contractor method statements to ensure alignment with project standards and health and safety requirements.Participate in meetings with contractors and subcontractors to address health and safety issues.Review investigations of serious contractor construction incidents to ensure causative factors are determined and actions are taken to prevent recurrence.Monitor construction management and contractor activities to ensure compliance with project safety plans.Maintain safety and performance metrics and regularly report on program effectiveness.Manage construction safety audit programs and reporting.Complete daily reports documenting events, findings, observations, and major tasks related to safety, health, and the overall project status.Essential Skills
Exceptional ability to develop positive relationships and lead through influence.Outstanding communication skills, including presentation, written, and oral communication.Thorough technical expertise and understanding of applicable regulations, laws, industry standards, and best practices.Subject matter expertise in occupational health and safety, injury and accident prevention, and construction safety.Self-starter with strong ownership and accountability, thriving in fast-paced and rapidly changing environments.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or related fields. Relevant work experience may substitute.Current Professional Certification: CSP, ASP, CHST, OSHT, GSP, or similar from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals or similar accredited organization.10 years of relevant work experience in construction safety.5 years of supervisory experience in construction safety.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple worksite locations.Extensive knowledge of OSHA 1910 & 1926 regulations, NFPA, NEC, and ANSI standards.Solid understanding of industrial hygiene at construction sites.Ability to plan and organize daily schedule and activities effectively.Work Environment
The role involves working on two different projects, both RICE Plants (Natural Gas Generators) located in Cedar Rapids, IA, and Burlington, IA. Consultants should expect to work 5 days a week, 10 hours a day, with a reduction to 40-hour work weeks during winter months. The position does not offer per diem, but mileage expenses can be claimed following IRS rates. The work environment promotes diversity and inclusion.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
