Summary
Reporting to the Site Leader and Sanitation Leader, as the Site Sanitation Leader you will provide hands-on leadership to the Sanitation Team on all shifts at your own site to ensure all related tasks are performed properly. This includes cleanliness of the plant and external premises, all equipment, machinery and utensils in the production process. You will be responsible to ensure all your Team Leaders and Team member follow FGF’s food safety guidelines while completing their work.

Leads by example and fosters an environment of mutual respect and team work among Team MembersConduct pre-shift huddles and provides feedback for Team MembersLeads, coaches, mentors and trains Sanitation Team LeadersCoordinates all sanitation activities to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation recordsLeads sanitation personnel onsite and ensuring daily requirements/procedures are carried outConducts SWAP test as necessaryCollects regular water samples, check PH levels and maintain accurate recordsFollows GMP’s, Food and Health and Safety RegulationsPerforms all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the BRC food safety standardsEnsures all chemicals used in the cleaning process are mixed with a proper solution according to the suppliers’ specifications Ensures Health & Safety and Food Safety principles are followed and adhered toEnsures Sanitation Team members are adequately trained and works with contractor or internal supporting groups to resolves training if deficiencies are foundEnsures daily activities are carried out and enforce prioritiesKeeps detailed records and follow up on all sanitation-related activities and issues, such as inspections, violations, deficiencies, and corrective actionsMaintains sanitation chemical inventoryWorks with QA to Maintain the Master Sanitation Schedule as per FGF’s guidelines, ensuring all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks are performed and documentedParticipates in the visual pre-op inspection at the end of the cleaning process in order to ensure that the lines meet the required standards and follow up on identified deficiencies in a timely mannerParticipates in self-inspections and follow up on actionsProvides feedback on team member and/or team performance to the Corporate Sanitation LeaderCreates a continuous improvement (Lean/Kaizen/5S) environment by improving products, service, and processes with the objective to reduce waste, improve cleaning effectiveness within the area while striving for efficiency and profitability within SanitationLocks out, dismantles, cleans and sanitizes production equipment in accordance to standard operating proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by Corporate Sanitation Leader/VP SanitationAssures proper training is provided to the TMs and maintain appropriate training recordsImproves sanitation process to comply with city guidelines to manage the waste water systemEnsures fair work place environment to all team members
Required Experience:
Minimum 3-4 years of experience working in a sanitation environment (food/bakery experience is desirable) with a proven track record of prior leadership experienceMust be a demonstrated leader who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team to meet demands established by the scheduleMust have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilitiesAccuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issueScissor Lift license is an assetFamiliar with internal and external inspectionsAbility to manage difficult peopleAbility to work independently with minimal supervision Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if neededWorking knowledge of GMP's, HACCP, BRC & O.H.S.A requiredStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)Post-secondary education an assetAble to support multiple facilities in the GTA, including North York, Vaughan, Brampton, MississaugaWhat is the recipe for a great career at FGF?
