What You Will Contribute:
 

The Site Security Officer helps protect property and enforce entrance security rules at the Badger Meter Milwaukee facility. This position will monitor surveillance cameras and alarms. Additionally, this position will maintain entry onto the site for visitors and vendors.  In the case of an emergency, responsibilities include calling for and directing ambulance, police or fire services. 

Job Duties:

Monitor and review gate or door access for vehicles, employees, and visitors.  

Monitor alarms and security cameras; Sound alarms or call for outside assistance when needed in emergencies.  

Complete incident reports and required documentation for all security incidents.  

Ensure all employees and visitors have proper credentials for accessing buildings (ID badges and passes).  

Assist employees and visitors with any concerns they might have.  

Work with Facilities and Safety departments to coordinate activities.  

Schedule:

Thursday - Friday: 2:30PM - 8PM

Education and Experience:

High School Degree/GED preferred

0-1+ years of prior security experience strongly desired.

Qualifications:

Excellent observation skills required

Excellent written and oral skills required

Ability to handle multiple tasks in a calm manner in an emergency situation required

Basic knowledge of security principles including CCTC and card access systems (desired)

Basic experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Working Conditions:

Work is performed indoors/outdoors; may be exposed to heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.

Depending on the assigned department, must complete an audiogram test
