Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About The Role
Position: Vacuum Truck Operator
Shift: 7/7 - 12 hour day and night shifts
Position Reports To: Site Services Supervisor
Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a highly motived team member who will support the New Gold Rainy River site from within the Site Services team as a Vacuum Truck Operator. The Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for the operation of the Vacuum Truck in a safe and appropriate manner. The skilled operator will have the opportunity to work with many teams in various areas across the site.
Key Responsibilities
He or she must perform circle checks of equipment, clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by legislation, policies, and procedures. Operate mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner, lubricate and refill equipment to ensure the equipment runs safely and efficiently. Ensure proper load securement of hoses and other equipment. Complete and maintain all required documentation in an orderly manner (daily log book, field level risk assessment, etc.) Communicate with the team, cross-shifts, supervisors, and logistics. Other activities to ensure safe, efficient and productive surface mining operations.
Qualifications
Grade 12 diploma/GED preferred. Minimum 1 year experience required operating Vacuum trucks. Valid Driver’s Class D or A License. Completed Ontario Common Core Training or equivalent is an asset. Demonstrated leadership in safety. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively as part of a team effort as well as individually.
Working Conditions:
Physically able to carry and lift 20-50lbs to complete routine maintenance.
Ability to operate equipment in various weather conditions and environments.
Completion of New Gold vacuum truck training required.
Able to work day and night shifts.
