Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort Frances, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.
The Rainy River Mine, located adjacent to the Ontario / Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. If you enjoy outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, winter sports and lake country then this is an area you will love to live and work in.
Applicants who reside in Northwestern Ontario and have experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the Northwest Ontario, are assets. About the Role
Position: Water Treatment Plant Labourer
Shift: 7/7 - day and night shifts
Position Reports To: Site Services Shift Supervisor
Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated team member who will support the Site Services Water Treatment Plant Operator in a seasonal role. The role of the Site Services WTP Labourer is to ensure all activities are carried out in conformance with New Gold’s policies and procedures including cultural, safety and environmental. This is an entry level position, no prior water treatment plant experience is needed. The sucessful applicants will recieve on the job training to aquire the necessary skills and knowledge required for the position. This position is a 6 month term.
*Preference will be given to local residents of the Rainy River district.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a variety of Site Services mobile equipment and hand tools. Fueling pumps, heaters, light plants and generators. Track fuel added and equipment operating hours to ensure up to date pumping records. Gather water samples and assist with preforming water quality testing. Monitor sump and pond levels, communicate any issues to the supervisor. Ensure good house keeping of all work areas and equipment. Preform minor maintenance in related work areas. Escort reagent deliveries and supervise off-loading. Perform general duties assigned. Assist other trades within the Site Services Department.Qualifications
Class G Driver’s License Required Previous experience operating equipment is an asset. Ability to problem solve. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Good oral and written communication skills.
