Location/Division Specific InformationThis position is in Indianapolis, IN. Customer interface communication skills required. This position must understand the performance metrics applicable to site specific activities and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.How do we make an impact?Unity Lab Services provides a single source for integrated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and premier service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs.What will you do?The position is focuses primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services core offerings: performing inventory management in point of use locations inside and outside of labs, use of a handheld scanner for inventory replenishment, front facing inventory, stocking inventory using First In/First Out (FIFO), dock to lab deliveries, material handling, dry ice delivery, lab coat management, and shipping/receiving.Use inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processingPerform laboratory services such as order delivery, glassware processing, biological waste processing, chemical inventory receipt/reconciliation, and media preparation Proactively connect with the supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems and address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.Engage in process improvement activitiesBe involved with safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections and incident reporting/investigation as required.May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.How will you get here?EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.Experience1 year of related experience within a laboratory setting or customer service is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesAble to read, write, and speak English fluentlyStrong verbal and written communication skills, and desire to deliver excellent customer service. This includes maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions and upholding Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.Possesses a strong desire to serve the customer, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate with various levels of personnel at the customer site.Must possess operating skills to use handheld scanners to enter data in various systems as needed; as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.Demonstrates the ability to understand the complexity of various work environments and work safely following all policies and procedures.Demonstrates computer proficiency and possesses intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentWorks primarily at customer sites, which may require independent work. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens are in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)Depending on the area of the building, personal protective equipment may need to be worn, including lab coats, coveralls, hoods, facemasks, hairnets, safety gloves, steel-toe shoes (required for all colleagues), bump hats, and/or safety glasses.Regularly required to lift 30 - 40lbs, and up to 50lbs occasionally.Regularly use equipment including pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, forklifts, etc. to push/pull up to 100lbsRegularly required to stand, walk and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods.Ability to work in environments with varied temperatures (cold rooms, outside, etc.)Ability to work overtime as needed.BenefitsWe offer competitive remuneration, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
