JOB SUMMARY:
The Skateboard Coach position is an integral part of the camper's experience, providing a dynamic platform that is unmatched. You will execute and support all aspects of the program, including overall curriculum and appropriate use of facilities. The goal is to ensure a high level of training and progression, making sure campers are engaged and participating in a responsible manner.
The Skateboard Zone Coach position will be responsible for the safety, vibe, and cleanliness of the Action Sports facilities around camp. Zone Coaches will be responsible for one (1) Action Sports facility per Zone Coach shift. Zone Coaches need to make sure campers are acting responsibly and respectfully to others and using the facility in a safe manner. They will be responsible for upholding energy within the park and for the cleanliness of the facility.
The Skateboard Counselor will be in collaboration with coaching and is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of all campers within assigned cabin throughout the day and from the time they return to the cabin for the evening to when campers are released to instruction the following morning. They will be responsible for assisting campers with any needs or challenges that arise during the week, referring to department leads as needed. This role provides you with the ability to connect with the campers outside of the park setting, and enhance the overall experience.

Camp Counselor Exemption - 85% Per California exemption wage order 5.
All other applicable deductions will be applied.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:
Preferred 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens
Experience working in a camp environment is preferred
High school degree or equivalent preferred
Experience in action sports coaching preferred
Health and Safety Certifications
Well-spoken and articulate over the phone, through written contact, and in person.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly.
Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and accountability.
Strong attention to detail.
Comfortable handling confidential information.
Successful working in an independent and team environment
Ability to develop strong relationships with diverse groups of people.
BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:
FBI and DOJ fingerprint screening required.
CPR Certification
Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.
Adhere to all workplace safety practices, expectations, and guidelines.
Provide work related references upon request.
