Skateboard Counselor

Location: Soda Springs, California

Woodward Tahoe (Boreal and Soda Springs), located in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain range, is a year-round world-class action sports facility with a culture that comes straight from our main product: Fun. If this sounds like the kind of place you'd like to work, progress, and play, we'd love to hear from you!

The Skateboard Counselor’s mission is to foster a positive and nurturing environment for kids while at camp.  Counselors are expected to teach campers in all aspects of Skateboard riding relative to the camper’s ability.  Applicants must have strong skills within their sport and strong communication skills. Counselors instruct campers in their sport/activity and they are responsible for up to 10 campers between the ages of 5-17.  Further, they are responsible for the daily needs of each camper when they are not in instructional sessions.  This includes eating meals with them, making sure they get to activities on time, helping them call home, etc.

Action Sports Counselors have specific duties related to helping kids check-in and orient them to camp, enforcing rules, etc.  Counselors must present a neat and well-kept appearance during their stay at Woodward Tahoe and be a role model in character and behavior.  Although you are hired on as a Sport Counselor, this position is ever changing and you must be able to complete multiple jobs at any given time while at camp.
