Skilled Trade - Inspector Tooling and Layout - Kansas City Assembly - Claycomo MO

Electricians are paid a top hourly base rate of $42.525, plus applicable shift, overtime, and holiday premiums.  The starting rate for this position is $42.325 with pay increases to the top rate upon completion of three consecutive months of employment.

Troubleshoot & Repair:

Perceptron/Zeiss SystemsBuild sort gauges from scratch using tools and parts in the labRebuild any and all types of gauges in the production departmentsSet up new gauges in the production departmentsUnderstand the mechanics of all gauges and masters and be able to re-set and master any gauge in the plantOperational knowledge of all measuring devices in the IQ Lab, such height gages, gage blocks, hardness tester, optical comparator, thread gages, calipers, micrometers, pin gages.Ability to access and read blueprints to determine measurement characteristics

Gauge Surveillance and Calibration:

Perform yearly surveillance (visual inspection) & calibration (measurement verification) on all gauges and fixturesEnter and retrieve gauge information into Gage Track record database

Layout:

Write programs for ATOS Scanbox, PC Demis CMM, and Polyworks for measurement equipmentPerform part measurements per blueprint and Engineering directionAbility to work with Engineers to conduct part evaluationsAbility to run scanning systems like Handyscan and MetrascanAbility to set up and use Leica Laser TrackerUse 3D Printer to create holding fixtures and prototype tools/gages.

Computer, Software, PC requirements:

Upload Datamyte and LMI data for Margin/Flush/Seal Gap ReadingsUse and upload Blue Light Laser Gage dataModify CMM programs in PCDemis or ATOS for engineering changesAbility to use Ford Corp CAD software Teamcenter and Catia.

 Preventive Maintenance:

Perform department PM’s on Department Equipment as required.

 Administrative / Computer tasks:

Knowledge of Maximo & Drawing Management SystemGD&T - Geometric dimensioning and tolerancingEnter gauge repair diagnosis & solutions into every GR Maximo ticketAccess and read blueprints to determine gauge replacement partsKnowledge of Citrix and WBDM for all data storage.

Willingness and ability to work on any assigned schedule, change shifts, work more than 8 hours per day and/or work overtime, all while maintaining good attendance.  Ability and willingness to learn and follow safety rules and procedures, to work in a team environment, treat co-workers with dignity and respect regardless of personal differences, and accept and follow instructions and requests from leadership.  Ability and willingness to understand and follow instructions, both oral or in writing. 

Ability to perform tasks of the trade, stand for extended periods, walk unassisted, work at heights, work overhead including on ladders and platforms and manipulate tools typical of the trade. Tasks will require a certain amount of reaching, lifting, twisting, bending, and use of a PMHV or hilo. Ability to perceive differences in details and prints related to trade.  Must be able to effectively maneuver about vehicles, equipment, assembly lines or stations, and about facility.
