Position Information Position Title Skilled Trades FLSA Non-Exempt Primary Responsibilities Perform general repairs and replacements to damaged, deteriorated or otherwise non-functioning conditions found in and about the University buildings and campus. Apply journeyman level knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing or electrical. Additional experience must encompass a basic knowledge from three of the following disciplines: carpentry, plumbing. electrical and painting. Apply skill and responsibility in the use of tools and equipment of respective trades and be responsible for tools, materials and devices to perform tasks according to accepted practices. Perform related duties as required to accomplish tasks. Primary schedule is as follows: Tuesday-Saturday Noon-8:30pm (flexible schedule) Days Off: Sunday & Monday Minimum Qualifications High School diploma (or equivalent) required. Two (2) years of experience in journeyman trades level work is required. May consider specific coursework related to this position, toward the journeyman trades experience. Requires operation of equipment related to the trade. Bending, heavy lifting, climbing ladders, and stairs. Ability and willingness to follow verbal and written reports and utilize the work order system. Candidate must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be comfortable working with all members of the university community, including fellow workers, staff, faculty, senior staff and the president. Must be able to meet University requirements to be authorized to drive University vehicles. Preferred Qualifications Salary SEIU Level E: $18.63-$27.09/hr. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
