Are you a skilled carpenter with experience in laying concrete and utilizing software systems to design and produce specialized parts? Our Twins Lake Park is currently in need of a Skilled Trades Worker II who will work with the supervisor to ensure projects are completed efficiently and in compliance with all regulations and ordinances, working with either contractual or in-house staff. This position starts out paying $21.07/hr (Step 1) and there are numerous opportunities for both growth and development. Impact your community and apply today, gaining not only a stable career but outstanding benefits that begin within 60 days of hire!About the Position In this role, you will... + Perform advanced finish carpentry, including, but not limited to, framing walls, installation of doors, cabinets, hardware, and fencing. + Plan, layout, and construction of assets to include, but not limited to, two pole shelters, picnic pavilions, small buildings, boardwalks, pedestrian bridges, and kiosks. + Operate the CNC machine to produce communication-approved signs. + Utilize software to design and reproduce unique historic parts and fabricate broken or missing components that have become difficult to acquire. + Restore detailed finish carpentry on historic buildings and sites, which will involve matching the right lumber species, paint, and coatings. + Plan, layout, and form concrete to include, but not limited to, footers, foundations, floors and sidewalks, playground equipment, and associated walks and surface materials. + Record and compile data. + Plan and apply for building permits, right-of-way use permits, and inspections. + Work together and communicate with contractors to ensure the timely completion of work, monitoring for code compliance. About the Schedule Work Hours: + Full-Time, 40 hours per week. + Typical Schedule: 6:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. + As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. About You Minimum Qualifications: + High School Diploma or its equivalent. + Four (4) years of combined concrete and carpentry experience. + Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience in the operation of a CNC machine and the required operating software. + Ability to read and follow diagrams, blueprints, plans, and written instructions + Ability to work in construction areas and around heavy equipment. + Knowledge of ADA requirements as they relate to public facilities and parks + Forklift Operator experience. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment for five years. Physical Demands: Employees in this role must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 lbs. Employees can use handling devices (dolly, cart, etc.) or work with another team member to lift and/or move excessive poundage of 50-plus pounds. About Everything Else Starting Pay Range: $21.57/ hr.
