THE ROLE
The Skyline Café Cashier will play a key role in delivering a seamless guest experience, handling all transactions efficiently while maintaining a high-level customer service in a fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Guest Interaction: Greet guests warmly, answer questions about menu items, and provide recommendations for quick bites and beverage options. Transaction Processing: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, accurately process cash, credit, and mobile payments, and handle both food and alcohol purchases responsibly. Maintain Cleanliness & Order: Keep the café counter and surrounding areas neat and stocked with food, beverages, and supplies. Restock inventory as needed. Perform opening and closing duties including clean up, product storage, and trash removal. Compliance: Ensure proper ID verification when selling alcoholic beverages, adhering to all local Massachusetts alcohol serving standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the café team to keep service flowing smoothly, restocking items, and supporting the back-of-the-house staff as needed preparing simple menu items. Guest Satisfaction: Deliver quick, courteous, and professional service to ensure a memorable experience for every guest. Perform other duties assigned by Food & Beverage Director and Management as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. (21+ preferred for alcohol service) Previous cashier or food service experience, preferably in a fast-casual or grab & go setting. Familiarity with a POS System and basic cash handling procedures. Valid TIPS Alcohol Service Certification. Ability to interact with co-workers to assure compliance with company service standards. Ability to multitask in a fast paced, team orientated setting, maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Fluent in English. Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10-30 pounds, occasionally 50 pounds, up and down stairs/ramps. Ability to work all events, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned production tasks including: constant reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time. Must meet state and local health requirements for food handlers and alcoholic beverage services.COMPENSATION
