Hourly Pay Range: $23.24 - $34.86. The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Location: 800 W Central Rd. Arlington Heights, IL.Full Time: 40 hours/weekHours: Monday-Friday, Nights, 6pm – 6:30amGeneral Summary:
Reporting to the Sleep Center Manager and in conjunction with the Sleep Center leadership physicians and while under the direct supervision of the Charge Technologist or CCSH Technologist performs and accurately scores adult and pediatric diagnostic and therapeutic sleep testing procedures including diagnostic sleep studies, oral appliance studies, split night and full night therapeutic titration of CPAP, BiLevel, auto servo ventilation positive airway pressure and oral appliance and oxygen therapy. Performs mask and positive airway pressure equipment fittings and accurate and thorough patient/family education for testing procedures being performed. Works under the Charge Technologist or CCSH Technologist who guides the non-registered Sleep Technologist in the use of sound clinical judgment and follows policy and procedure and physician order and instruction to provide patient care. Accurately scores physiological data and generates data and technician summary reports as verified by the Charge Technologist or CCSH Technologist for each patient case to the physician. Participates in all quality assurance and improvement measures and processes. Adheres to and exemplifies NCH CARES values and standards at all times.
What you will need:
Is a currently enrolled 1st or 2nd year Moraine Valley Community College (MVCC) Sleep Technology Student with at least one completed full semester of clinical rotation with hands on patient experience, ORIs a STAR/ASTEP/CAAHEP/CPSGT certified sleep technologist with 1 year minimum sleep technologist experience in an accredited sleep center and has not graduated from the accredited MVCC sleep technologist program, ANDUnder the supervision of the Charge Technologist or CCSH Technologist is able to perform all aspects of the Sleep Technologist job role by end of the 90-day probationary period as evidenced by passing AAST clinical assessments for competency in all aspects of the Sleep Technologist job role and can solidly perform all basic sleep testing procedures including adult and pediatric diagnostic, split and titration studies, oral appliance titration studies, BiLevel S Titration, oxygen titration with PAP, ANDWhen hired into this role as a STAR/ASTEP/CAAHEP/CPSGT certified sleep technologist with 1 year minimum sleep technologist experience in an accredited sleep center that has not graduated from the accredited MVCC sleep technologist program, has 12 months from date of initial hire to become RPSGT or RST credentialed. Failure to comply with this standard will result in removal from employment. When hired into this role as a currently enrolled Moraine Valley Community College (MVCC) Sleep Technology Student that has completed at least one full semester of clinical rotation with hands on patient experience, must maintain status of “currently enrolled” at all times of employment and upon graduation from the program has 6 months from the date of graduation to become RPSGT or RST credentialed. Failure to comply with this standard will result in removal from employment, AND Current Basic Life Support CPR Healthcare Provider card.Ongoing education in the field of sleep medicine at a rate of 10 continuing education units annually as defined by the AASM for technologists in an accredited sleep program; must additionally meet all AAST, BRPT and AASM educational requirements. Knowledge and understanding of indications, contraindications, and adverse effects of nasal continuous, bi-level, and auto servo ventilation positive airway pressure and oxygen administration.Benefits (For full time or part time positions):
