Location:

Plant 37 is located in Hanover, PA. The Plant manufactures 2-piece and 3-piece steel cans for the food industry over 7 shifts. There are approximately 95 employees at the Hanover location. The Hanover Plant is located on Route 194 in York County and is in close proximity to York, PA, Gettysburg, PA and the Maryland border.

Position overview:

The Slitter Machine Operator works closely with Supervision and Quality to ensure optimum levels in Quality Inspections, Package identification, and Final packaging.

*This is a 1st shift position; 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday. Overtime is required. 

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the Slitter Operator responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:  

Check loads of plate for possible problems before running them on slitter Accurately filling out production reports from load tickets Inspect body blanks being produced for quality, margins, surface scratches, squareness, color variation Feed body blanks into welder Feed ends into Double Seamers and check the quality of ends Empty slitter straw tubs and keep work area clean Assist maintainer to produce good quality and quantity Use Process Control to maintain good quality of work and monitor quality of products produced Perform housekeeping and SQF related tasks throughout the shift and/or as assigned Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
