Slitting Machine Operator
**Job Title: Slitting Machine Operator** **Job Description** Set up and operate Cutting & Roll Wrapping Machines. Cut cores to size for slitter, ensuring proper supplies of cores for Slitting Jobs. Weigh plastic rolls and label properly. Palletize rolls and deliver to finished goods area. Follow GMP’s and PRP’s and production SOP’s. Conduct final inspection of rolls according to Final Inspection procedure. Report all unsafe acts and conditions to the department group leaders and managers immediately. Repeatable motions, lifting up to 30-50 lbs. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate Cutting & Roll Wrapping Machines + Cut cores to size for slitter, ensuring proper supplies of cores for Slitting Jobs + Weigh plastic rolls and label properly + Palletize rolls and deliver to finished goods area + Follow GMP’s and PRP’s and production SOP’s + Conduct final inspection of rolls according to Final Inspection procedure + Report all unsafe acts and conditions to the department group leaders and managers immediately + Perform repeatable motions, lifting up to 30-50 lbs **Essential Skills** + 6+ months of manufacturing operating experience + Ability to read and take measurements + Ability to read, write, and speak English + Ability to lift 50 lbs consistently **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Specific flexographic or metals slitting experience + Mechanical aptitude + Operating overhead hoist + Previous experience operating a machine for a packaging company + Any machine operating experience from a GMP company is a plus + Experience setting up a machine is a plus + Previous corrugated packaging or printing background is a plus + Any training within safety protocols is a plus + Ability to take measurements **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive pay and benefits. Extremely clean and well-organized with GMP standards. Safety Shoes, Hair Net, Ear Plugs, and Safety Glasses are required. Departments include Print, Lamination, Slitting, Warehouse, and Maintenance. Strong tenured workforce. Recent investment of new machinery ($8 million) with additional capital expenditure planned throughout the next 3-5 years ($80 million). Updated breakrooms with a new self-serve vending process. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.44 - $22.44/hr.
