The Small Business Banker is responsible for building strong advisory relationships with small business clients, typically those with annual revenues <$2MM, and working to uncover, understand, and solve the client's known and unknown needs. Responsible for deposit growth within the portfolio, the ideal candidate will work to identify client balances held at other financial institutions and recommend additional treasury management solutions when appropriate to help the client grow their business, improve efficiency, or simplify complex tasks. The Small Business Banker will be responsible for accurately completing new account applications, TM sales product applications, and lending applications and will be comfortable using a suite of technology products to perform client-requested account maintenance. The Small Business Banker will also be responsible for coordinating through fulfillment the onboarding of new banking products and services.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial sales and service with the ability to create new ideas and execute action plans to achieve specified sales and service goals. Additionally, the candidate will possess an outgoing personality and have the ability to create or draw on business relationships with business leaders and managers within the community to help attract and build new client relationships. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have a background in small business lending products and services and be able to make lending recommendations suitable for the client's needs.
This role will be based in a Western Alliance branch office and will primarily involve supporting an existing portfolio of clients, connecting primarily via telephone or email and occasionally through in-person visits while working to develop new business.

Be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of small business clients within a defined geographic coverage areaRoutinely contact, primarily via telephone, existing, prospective, or newly assigned clients, and develop relationships and new business opportunitiesAbility to assess customer's financial needs and recommend the most appropriate products and/or services to assist in developing new business opportunities and expanding on existing customer base. Supports the growth of a designated branch market area and Provides leadership by actively supporting assigned branchesMaintain a strong knowledge of Western Alliance Bank deposit, lending, and treasury management products and servicesCollaborate with other departments across the organization to execute the sales, relationship-building, and credit strategies to achieve optimal resultsStay abreast of changing business trends that impact small business clients and translate those trends into business opportunitiesAssists in mitigating risk, verifying audit compliance, and procedural quality control through a branch operations review. Ensures compliance with established Bank policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations.What you need to have:
High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) or more years of Branch Banking Operations, Customer Service, or Lending and/or Deposits Sales or a combination thereofIntermediate knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management, and/or other commercial banking products and servicesIntermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practicesIntermediate project management and organizational skills; ability to create momentum, foster organizational change, and work with other members of senior management.Experience advising business owners on complex credit/lending solutionsStrong speaking and writing skills for internal and external audiencesAbility to interpret client financial statements and recommend specific solutions to achieve goals.Benefits you’ll love:
