Compensation Range

Hourly: $22.75 - $26.50 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

The main purpose of this job is to assist the Small Business Banking Sales (SBB) team, Portfolio Managers, and Retail partners that service diverse and complex small business relationships. The position interacts with internal/external customers daily to help secure loan documentation providing a superior customer experience.

Essential Functions

Enter customer applications and upload appropriate documentation into Loan Operating System from Sales Team to help ensure Credit meets established SLA’s for decisioning/funding

Actively manage the loan documentation process and complete the condition clearing process while obtaining the required loan documentation to meet customer expectations for loan closings and/or established sales contract closing dates 

Contact customers to clear conditions and receive updated financial information associated with borrowing requests and ensure all documentation is received and loan documents are complete 

Match the approved Credit Approval Summary (CAS)/Loan Presentation to validate when the deal is ready to be sent to Commercial Loan System (CLS) for document preparation

Review loan documents to ensure accuracy of critical loan terms and conditions prior to closing with the customer

Work with specialist, customers, and external parties to coordinate and schedule closings

Coordinate with the Specialist and/or Branch Manager to initiate funding based on authorizations from customer

Review booking summary of all critical deal parameters and verify loan is ready to be booked

Collect executed closing documentation from customer or Specialist/Branch Manager and ensure that CLS images and files appropriately

Identify, log, track and coordinate post-closing exceptions (i.e., Document exceptions, covenant tracking, financial statements etc.)

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Super User – Act as a SME for CRM related inquiries from SBB Specialists and Branch Managers

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Advanced knowledge of loan administration and loan documentation

Ability to learn Commerce Bank internal systems (I360, CRISP, DDA, Analysis, CLS, Branch Connections, Finance Center, ELAR)

Basic knowledge of retail sales platform and systems

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook  

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Associate’s degree in related field preferred.

2+ years in retail sales and/or customer service preferred

1-3 years of commercial banking experience preferred

For this position, federal regulations require Commerce Bank to prepare an investigatory consumer report which will disclose credit history. If you express interest in and are considered for this position, you will be asked to authorize that report.

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $22.75 to $26.50.
