Small Engine Repair Associate

SUMMARY

The Small Engine Repair Associate is responsible for the overall operation and success of the small engine/ lawnmower repair department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Diagnose, adjust, repair or overhaul small engines used in lawnmowers, chainsaws, and related equipmentAble to drive ¾ ton truck and 16’ trailer on a regular basisPick up and drop off of customers equipment in a neat and professional mannerWork within company programs, policies and proceduresPromote and support established programsCommunicate with and receive product from approved vendorsOperate a forkliftFollows safety policies and procedures; is a safety role modelOther duties assignedDuring slow or off-season technician will be asked to work in one of our ACE Hardware retail locations. This would be temporary if at all and determined by work load

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED);One to three months related experience and/or training;Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write warranty claims and service tickets. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.

Valid Driver’s License
