Small Group Account Manager

**Job Description**
Partners with the Agents and Consultants to obtain new sales and retain existing membership within Blue Cross NC’s health and ancillary products for small group segment. Maximizes the growth of an Agent's small group business with Blue Cross NC through relationship management, while supporting the delivery of efficiency and quality service. The Account Manager will serve as the lead contact for Agents and Consultants for new small group sales and renewal inquiries.
**What You'll Do**
+ Builds and maintains effective relationships withAgentsto achieve target marketing plans for new and renewal business.
+ Partners withAgents/Consultants in development of retention strategies that will achieve persistency goals. Completes extensive research and captures group specific information as needed for re-rating.
+ Works with underwriting on behalf of theAgent/Consultant and group to provide rating solutions that meet the customers’ needs. Identifies alternative rating solutions to maintain and attract customer base.
+ Performs and completes renewal process to ensure accurate information is being provided to the customer. This includes delivering and explaining renewal financial information to the group in conjunction with theAgent/Consultant as necessary.
+ Develops, implements, and presents toAgentsan effective sales and retention strategy that focusesonBlue Cross NCstrengths and key differentiators. This includes successful execution of marketing initiatives to maximize small group membership growth.
+ ManagesAgentexpectations through a consultative relationship approach.
+ Demonstrates a strong knowledge of products, e-commerce tools, service offerings, underwriting guidelines, and overall industry knowledge.
+ Conducts internal and external negotiations effectively to provide solutions that meet the customer’s needs.
+ Provides education onBlue Cross NCproducts, procedures and services.
+ TrainsAgent/Consultant regarding the renewal process.
+ Responsible for understanding market/competitive information that can be utilized to enhanceBlue Cross NC’s competitive position in the small group market.
+ SupportsAgentwith enrollment meetings and health fairs for new and renewal business.
**What You Bring**
+ Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)
+ 0-2 years of experience in related field
+ In lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience in related field
+ NC Life and Health Insurance License (or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment).
+ Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
**Nice To Have**
+ Small group experience is a plus
+ Healthcare experience/knowledge
+ Flexibility to travel
***Training for this position will be in-person on our Durham Campus.**
**Compensation**
This is a sales incentive role with a total compensation package that consists of a base salary and sales incentive target component. All sales roles are eligible for an initial draw/guarantee to assist new hires with their on-boarding with the company.
