SME DBA Developer

Praescient has extensive experience designing, developing, and integrating solutions for customers including the US Army, Special Operations Command (SOCOM), US Navy (USN), US Marine Corps (USMC), US Coast Guard (USCG), Department of Justice (DOJ), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), intelligence community, and local law enforcement agencies, among others.

The Return Review Program (RRP) is a mission-critical, automated system that is part of the IRS’s tax processing pipeline component which detects and selects potentially fraudulent returns to prevent/stop the issuance of invalid refunds. RRP maintains an integrated data warehouse that stores return data and taxpayer information for data mining, runtime scoring, scheme development and research. It incorporates multiple analytical techniques to detect anomalies for fraud and non-compliance, allowing RRP to improve the analytics each Filing Season to help the IRS identify increasingly sophisticated tax fraud.

Praescient Analytics is looking for a SME DBA Developer to join our team on RRP located in Lanham, MD working remotely.


Primary Responsibilities:

Ability to assess current state, identify customer requirements, and define the future state and/or business solution. Research, gather and synthesize information. Align with specific iterations of work, managing User Stories and traceability, assisting with task tracking, and getting information out of ELM, and supporting SCRUM and testing activities to help ensure successful delivery.

Required Qualifications:

Active MBI (MUST HAVE) Understanding of database technologies such as: Oracle and preferably GreenPlum Understanding of maintaining and creating SQL functions Understanding of maintaining and fine-tuning queries and troubleshooting database connections. Understanding of working with Enterprise Operations, with other DBAs. Experience in PL/PGSQL, SQL code development and maintenance Experience in shell scripting/Linux Experience in creating, maintaining, and optimizing stored procedures, functions, inline SQL, and ETL processes Knowledge of database design, query optimization, index management, integrity checks Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle Excellent organization skill to meet deadlines, fulfill task assignments, and proactively strives to achieve team objectives Ensures that best practices are followed in the development of SQL Code and Linux scripts Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing, and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery, and configuration management. Install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance. Experience with CI/CD, Jenkins, RTC / Code Repository. Knowledge and understanding of using Control-M Understanding of Agile development Excellent organization skill to meet deadlines, fulfill task assignments, and proactively strives to achieve team objectives Ensures that best practices are followed in the development of SQL Code and Linux scripts Excellent Communication Skills
