A Subject Matter Expert within Refresco acts as an internal consultant and enjoys full ownership of a certain application. You are fully responsible for incidents, changes, and projects related to this application as you have a very deep knowledge of the processes and systems involved. For this you need to keep your applications up to date, working closely with the basis team to install relevant updates. On productive systems, you are the one to guide and instruct the business on master data maintenance and housekeeping activities. On test systems, you take full ownership, always ready to conduct an end-to-end test, training, or demo session. You keep yourself trained and informed on the novelties in your area of expertise and you are aware and consulted of business trends within Refresco, so that you can anticipate requirements.
Central IT for Europe is a team of over 40 members, divided into 4 functional teams. These are Core Applications, Infrastructure & Networking, Enterprise Data Management, and Portfolio Management.
The team of Core Applications has Subject Matter Experts in a wide range of functional domains and is a multicultural team of close to 20 colleagues. You will report into the Team Lead, Finance & Procurement Applications.
Key responsibilities:
You are responsible for incident solving. You may have an outsourced AMS team (L1 and L2) reporting to you, so you do not need to solve incidents personally in most cases. You aim for optimal user satisfaction, ensure SLA compliance, use problem management tools to reduce repetitive incidents, implement preventive measures, and organize and participate in escalation calls when required.
You are co-responsible for change requests and improvements. You have a European Business Process Owner as counterpart, together with whom you receive and analyze business requirements. You may have an outsourced AMS team (L3 and ABAP) to delegate the following activities, while you remain responsible for the delivery:
Receive and analyze business requirements, offering to use standard SAP solutions or to reuse existing features when possible.
Produce functional specification documents, including impact analysis, test instructions and permission concept.
The system configuration (SPRO) is your responsibility. You may do it yourself or delegate it to an external partner.
Work together with the development team in technical specifications. You are not expected to write code yourself.
When changes are ready, you conduct a unit test.
Process flows, procedure manuals and similar documents need to be updated after every change. Although you are not responsible for those documents yourself, you contribute by hand over the relevant information to the business process owners.
Business users conduct the UAT. You validate their test results.
A change cycle ends only when the improvement is productive and the functionality is confirmed.
You follow up changes until you get a positive confirmation from the business.
