About the role:

The Smelter Mechanical Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in the area to which they are assigned. The main focus is to maintain liaison and coordination between the production and maintenance organizations; maintain appropriate records and file to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done. Key Activities:

Daily management of area(s) back log.Work with area supervisors, craft, engineering and Technical resources in order to develop complete job packages, including: job plan (work instruction and required safety documentation), kit content, required equipment/special tools, required labor, required permits and drawings and requisitions required parts.Complete work orders in the Alcoa CMMS to facilitate equipment histories.Updates PM/PdM activities and incorporate requested changes/revisions, and/or improvements into the Alcoa CMMS.Uses Bill of Materials (BOM’s) and other work instruction to initiate kits; daily management for kit status and tracking.Coordinate with warehouse personnel and procurement to ensure kit is complete within the required time line.Verify completed kit for content accuracy.Provide support to Reliability Engineers as needed.

Two-year technical degree or 4-year apprenticeship program or 8 years relevant industrial experienceSupervisory experience is a plusAptitude for required use of computer applications (e.g. SAP, CMMS, Microsoft Office, etc.)Interpret technical drawings & specifications (including minimum use of AutoCAD & ability to make sketches)Have adequate craft knowledge to estimate work hours and materials and to visualize the job to be performedGood oral/written communication skillsGood administrative and mathematical skills with willingness to handle paperworkHave good planning and organizational skills; ability to bring about orderUnderstanding of the accurate use of work orders, priorities, scheduling, etc.
